Hi, I would like to install the Dash 8 in Prepar3d v6. The installer does list Prepar3d v6, but I am wondering if that is all that is needed or if an additional patch is also required for full functionality. Thank you.

Problems with Saitek (Logitech) rudder, brakes and power quadrants on Q400 with Prepar3D

I am having ongoing issues with Saitek (Logitech) controls on the Q400. I am running P3D v5.4. I can't seem to find a thorough post or video for setup on the MJC Q400. The Majestic CPAN manual is very minimal and doesn't cover my issues.

I have joystick setting off on P3D. I have no axis assignments set on P3D. When trying to setup controls, I have the sim running and CPAN open. I have a Saitek yoke (with included power quadrant), rudder/brakes and one additional power quadrant. I can get CPAN to recognize my pitch and roll without issue. CPAN seems to be unable to find the rudder/brakes at all. On the power quadrants, I get both engine throttles activating together on the leftmost yoke quadrant lever and both engine condition settings together on the middle yoke lever. Nothing happens on the 2nd quadrant.
How does CPAN find my equipment? I must be missing something.

Exactly what the title says. The CPAN engine control module does not react when I move any of the controls (levers, potentiometers) on my Saitek yoke and aux control panel. I cannot set the detents on the power levers, and I do not get a reading from the throttles. FSUIPC is turned off, controls are registered in setup. What???!

Can't Access User Support Area Page

I can't access my user support area page. It shows this error message

"It looks like the webpage at https://majesticsoftware.com:8443/majesticSec/pages/orderStatus.jsp might be having issues, or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."

I did get the 1.026 patch from simmarket and everything got installed. Just wanted to know why the page isn't available.

it appears one of the available resellers of MJC8 Q400 is no longer. so i'm unable to re download my purchase - Majestic Software MJC8 Q400 TRAINING edition (P3Dv5). anyone else in a similar predicament.......

Route on ND is a straight line when it shouldn't be

I've had a couple of flights where the route on the ND did not depict what it really was, i.e. different headings for certain legs, but just as a straight line. For example, a SID that runs 2 NM on runway heading, then 90 degree left turn for 4 NM, then 30 degree right turn - all shown as a straight line. Switching on "DATA" to show Navaids and Airports they all show on that straight line.

Is that a bug? Is there some manipulation that I should not have done?

Recently upgraded to windows 11 and am now having a whole slew of issues. Flight control surfaces going haywire (which is probably why the low hydraulic lights are going crazy), artificial horizon on the PFD is flipping upside down every few seconds, oil temps on the display are showing a huge negative number. I have already reinstalled the C++ redistributable as someone suggested that for another P3d addon I was having issues with, which did not fix the problem.

Hello

I have the training edition patched to 1026a in v5, no problems, however when I try to install into v6 the patch reports "version 1.025 or v1.026 of the Q400 addon not detected"

Any thoughts on how to resolve?

My sim is P3D v5.4 and v6.1 on win 11, Q400 is pro version. I have installed MJC84-1026B into P3D v6.1 but kept MJC84-1025B for P3D v5.4.
My issue is that the value of "airspeed indicated" in the simconnect data is differ from the figure in PFD of Q400.
This phenomenon happens on 1026B on P3D v6.1, but does not happen 1025B on P3D v5.4. So, I could make the flight with 1025B/v5.4 with ease.
For example, during the take off, air speed in PFD is increasing to V1, Vr, then come to V2, however "airspeed indicated" value does not increase so much like 30~ 40 knot.
I have Spad.next for controlling the simconnect event, data change of Lvars, and some more function like play the sounds.
During take off situation, Spad is watching "airspeed indicated" of simconnect and compare them with the Lvar "Bugs=>Debug IAS V1, Vr, and V2" of Q400 for controlling the V1, Vr, V2 calling sound.
I could hear of those sound with 1025B/v5.4 at correct air speed, however, not hear none of sound with 1026B/v6.1.
That is my issue. I think "airspeed indicated" in the simconnect could not reach to the defined value of "Bugs=>Debug IAS V1, Vr, and V2" in case of 1026B/v6.1.
I am afraid of there might be other cause than those related to Q400 1026B, however anything does not come to mind except the difference of Q400 version.
Of course, I have checked other aircraft in P3D v6.1.
I have same type V calling control of Spad.next for other aircrafts like PMDG B737, B777, and Aerosoft CRJ pro in P3D V6.1.
All show the speed of "airspeed indicated" in simconnect and that in PFD are corresponding correctly and could hear of V call correctly too.
Would you please advise me how do I investigate forward?

Hi I recently purchased the EFB and am able to us it using my web browser. I am very pleased with it.
But when I try to open it in the virtual cockpit all I get is a black rectangle.
I would love to see it in the virtual cockpit also.

UHF Volume

I've got to not be seeing something here, but how do you control the volume for UHF1 & 2? I think that it's turned off, or down because I'm getting zero volume from AS2016 and default ATC when the ARCDU is turned to ATIS. However, it works just fine in the default C172.

I'm not trying to flood the forum with messages, but.. I've done some research on the forum regarding 125Hz setups and have found several messages regarding the yoke and some buttons, but still looking for brake and throttle setups.

Does anyone have a full setup using 125Hz that they can share with me or a list of the variables that I would need?

Missing varList.xls

Going through SpecialFeatures.pdf there is apparently supposed to be a varList.xls document in the scripts folder. Unfortunately there isn't one in my folder. Just an Example subfolder and two .txt files neither of which contain a list of variables. This would really be helpful in some of the stuff that I want to do with TouchPortal and assigning controls to 125hz. I do have the Pro version.

How do I obtain a copy?

I use the Training edition of the aircraft in P3D V5.4, with the most recent update, and I was flying the RNAV (RNP) Y RWY 30 into CYEG today, and noticed the plane couldn't/didn't program the RF legs present in this approach, tried it with the RNAV (RNP) Y RWY 35L into CYYC as well, also ran into the same issue.

Any ideas?

Control Panel problems

HELP, please. I am trying to set my engine controls using the control panel, but it does not seem to recognize my Saitek Yoke or Pro Flight Quadrant. When I load the aircraft, and then load the CPAN, FSX goes into pause mode, and moving the control levers has no effect on the Power lever or Condition Lever readouts. I am using the aircraft and the CPAN as the administrator. I have turned off my registered copy of FUSIPC but do fly with EZDOK and SPAD. This is the configuration I have always used, and this problem did not crop up until my hard drive died and I had to get a new one and completely rebuild my FSX-SE and add back all the aircraft that I flew. The Dash is one of my favorites, and not being able to calibrate the controls is a giant bummer. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I have version Q400 Training Edition version 1.025a installed for Prepar3D V5. I run the mjc8-400-patch1026a-x64-inst.exe file, choose "Prepar3D V5", verify the correct installation path, but installation fails with the error "Version 1.025 or 1.026 of the Q400 addon not detected".

If I go to my Add/Remove Programs list, I see an entry for "Majestic MJC8Q400". If I open C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\SimObjects\Airplanes\mjc8q400\doc/index.html, it says "MJC8 Q400 TRAINING EDITION version 1.025a for Prepar3D v5.x and v6.x".

Any ideas?

Elevator trim pinned full nose down

Hello, version 1.026a on Prepar3D v5.3. After takeoff I activate the autopilot, and the elevator trim drives to full ND. The airplane handles normally with autopilot. When I disable the autopilot at the final approach fix, even full ND trim is not enough to keep the nose from rising, and I need significant forward pressure to keep the nose level. This is at nearly all airspeeds and flap settings.

1.026a - weather radar stuck in standby

Hello, I updated to version 1.026a of the training edition, and the weather radar is stuck in STBY mode. Moving the mode knob has no effect. Pressing GND MAP or WxA has no effect. Changing the tilt has no effect. Changing the gain changes the tooltip value but otherwise has no effect.

I am running ActiveSky P3D v8557 and I have

ASN_INTERFACE=1
WXAR_INTERFACE=0

in my .ini file.

Am I missing something or is this a new bug?

Engine NH stops at 19.8 during startup [CLOSED]

Something unique to cold weather probably, but today in CYQT (8 degrees F and snow) using AS16 the engines will only get to 19.8 NH when attempting to start. Did the GSX deice and tried with the APU both on and off.

Closed AS16 and set FSX weather to Fair and engine started. Any idea what I might doing wrong in cold weather?

Returning to my flightsim after a couple of years of inactivity, and looking for any updates to purchased aircraft addons, I saw that the Dash 8 has been updated/patched to version 1.025b and I understand (if not mistaken) that the updates/patches are also applicable to the 32bit PRO version, which is the one I have purchased. Many thanks for your continued support for this outstanding addon product, even on rather outdated platforms!! However, when trying to access the USER AREA of the support webpage I get a message saying that the site uses an unsupported protocol. I tried accessing with Google Chrome (both on Windows 10/11 and Windows 7) and Microsoft Edge (Windows 10/11) and got the same message.

Any clue how to access the USER AREA page?

I have downloaded version 1.025 from simmarket (uploaded there on March 17, 2023) where I initially purchased the software, but I understand from reading some posts on the forum that there were some issues with that update and it was subsequently patched to version 1.025a (which I understand is only available through the USER AREA on the support webpage of the majestic software website).

Reinstalling DASH8 Prepar3d V4 Product Key

Due to PC crash, my purchased DASH8 was gone. Purchased on 2023-03-17th
I have downloaded again, but when tried to reinstall, asked my Email, Name, and Product Key.
Problem is that I can not find my Product Key anywhere, and I do not want to lose what I have paid.

How to stop scripts

Hello, how do I stop scripts from loading in FSX? I have set up save files with the A/C ready for departure or arrival so I can start running checklists from that point. I had done this last year and they worked fine, but now when I open them FSX starts to load a starting script. I have tried all the different settings on the majestic panel with no luck. Is there a way to stop all the scripts from running so the aircraft loads in the state I left it in when I saved?

Control Panel Ready to Taxi block does not work

Hi, I just downloaded the Majestic 8Q400 Pro v5. After completing the Control Panel Flight Config and checking off the Ready to Taxi block, it's not working for me. This is a brand new Jetlines PC I am setting up. It's Windows 11 and everything except the Ready to Taxi works as expected. This is the first time in all the years I've flown the Dash 8 this has happened. In reading the Forum, I see where this may be related in getting v-5 installed. I'm hoping maybe there is a button or switch somewhere I just need to turn on. I do note that every time I check this block, the next time I open to Ready to Taxi it is unchecked. I am sorry to bother you but I recently purchased the Majestic Q400 Pilot edition from the Just Flight store and installed it together with the appropriate 1.025a 32-bit patch into FSX Acceleration which I run on Windows 7. Unfortunately when I load the Q400 there is no landing gear and the VC is unresponsive with the yoke turned hard over and blank displays on the control panel as described in one of the topics in the FAQ. Uninstalling and reinstalling the aircraft has not helped. Although I followed the recommended suggestions in the FAQ the problem unfortunately persists.
I am an experienced simmer with a lot of correctly functioning payware aircraft installed and a large amount of addon scenery in a nicely functioning FSX so I am not planning to follow the final suggestion in the FAQ which was to reinstall FSX!! I would however like to be able to use this aircraft in FSX and any help would be appreciated.
