Landing cabin pressure

Hi.
What utility to set landing cabin pressure before to land?
If I don't set pressure what is the problem will appear?

    My airline SOPs are to set the landing cabin alt to 200ft above the destination elevation. We set this as part of the initial cockpit setup. This is mainly to stop the aircraft from "catching" the cabin altitude on descent, which just causes some discomfort in your ears. Also helps with equalizing the pressure in the cabin with the pressure outside when you land. Hope this helps
