FMS not synced during shared cockpit

Hi,

I'm new to the Q400, but me and a friend have had one successful flight. At least when you consider taking of from one airport and landing on another is you success criteria :)
However, after that I as a Captain had entered the flight plan into both FMS, my friend could not see the flightplan. Not in the FMS or on the MFD.

Is there no sync function during shared cockpit between pilots?
