Problem with Shared Cockpit (P3D V4 - Q400 Pro Edition)

I am having trouble with the shared cockpit feature at the moment, whenever we load into P3D, the aircraft works perfectly fine. However when me and my friend load up the Shared Cockpit panel, when clicking the on button, all we getting displayed is 'OBS' instead of the signal bar, I have configured everything in the control panel correctly as we used to fly on FSX, we spent quite a bit of money yesterday to upgrade to this version so it would work but am stuck.

I am probably missing something quite simple, if any of you guys can help that will be fantastic!

    Sounds like you have not configured the CPAN Shared Cockpit mode correctly:
    Flying Mode is the commonly used mode if only two pilots are sharing a flight deck

    I wish that were the cause, all of the parts in the control panel are configured correctly and as we had them before we upgraded to P3Dv4

    Are you ensuring that Both of you have the same mode selected and you have clicked on APPLY.... THEN.... reloaded the aircraft? (do not reload the simulator... Just the Q400)

    Sounds silly but I have to ask as many people do miss this critical step.
