In-Sim renders of Majestic Software Q400 for MSFS 2020 & 2024 [Jun 23rd 2025]
Fellow Sim Pilots,
A few weeks ago we posted some renders of the MJC Q400's progress, and we mentioned that when the In-Sim images were ready we'd post a few of them.
So, here is an update of early W-I-P of the MJC Q400 within the simulator. The model being displayed is not the final model and is being rebuilt but we are aggressively working on bring her to life.

As we progress we will be provide updates as we deem necessary.
Cheers

I would hope (and expect) the extrenal flight model as is in place for older FSX/P3D versions.
Is this build from the ground up for MSFS or some of it is being ported from P3D?
One of my most memorable purchases for P3D and eagerly awaited product for MSFS! I hope you're also able to bring on the fantastic shared-cockpit functionality.
so good to see the in-game pic, can't wait to take a flight on it!
I do wanna ask if it will be released on both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024?
The "plan" is for both platforms at this time.
We'll speak to that as we get deeper into the PRO + editions
This version of the Q400 is not being built from the ground up, but a lot of the systems have had to be redone. the modeling aspect will eventually get a complete re-work but very likely not for the initial release.
The majority of the systems/FDE model is dependent on the existing platform which the aircraft was developed in.
Can't wait! I really hope you implement the following, as it is brought up to MSFS2024 standards:
Remote CDU ability for use of FMS functions on iPads (I believe this was already the case on the P3D pro version)
Virtual cabin with wing flex (yes, it's present on the Q400 although subtle)
Improved external sounds (while the internal P3D sounds were perfect, the exterior sounds always seemed muffled)
Many thanks!
The "FMS" in P3D was available via a third developer and more than likely will follow the same path
Virtual cabin - we will speak more to that when we are able to take of/complete the more important aspects of the project right now.
It is possible that some of the sounds will be reworked but this too will have to be determined based on how well the MSFS platform plays with our sound integration.
Details regarding the questions asked will be discussed as we progress with the project. There likely be some changes that have to be done, but as to the extent we will see where that puts us in terms of time. The plan is for a complete re-work of the aircraft over time.
Cheers
I think if you guys want any amount of success and reputation kept with this release you absolutely have to release with a completely reworked model and textures inside and out. First impressions will make or break this.
I think there are enough people who loved this plane who would gladly take an MSFS version with the p3d level textures for now.
The expectations of the now-larger/newer community are very high. I am currently at Expo and note that Leonardo, who previously took a lot of flak for the lack of model and texture update 5 years ago on their MD-80 series, are now showcasing a new model and textures, which are making excellent progress.
As another example, PMDG’s new cabin model for the 737NG (also previously criticized) is inarguably on par with (and I think more detailed than) the Fenix A320 series.
I wish you guys every success with the release whatever you decide! I think we have all waited this long, so if it means strengthening that “first” impression, we can certainly wait longer.
I've been working on the q400 project for 6/7 years now, I don't remember exactly.
I think that to exploit the maximum potential from an operational point of view, (systems, flight dynamics, etc.) p3d is still the main ally of this aircraft.
there is no doubt that the external graphics of FSMS 2024 are a world totally apart and very realistic.
the alternative in my opinion is to use 2 platforms, P3D for the aircraft and MSFS 2024 for the external graphics, I haven't looked into it yet but I think it's feasible, so we would have saved as they usually say.....GOAT AND CABBAGE.
this is my job.
my intent is clearly a home cockpit and maybe the needs are different I don't know.
what I aspire to now that I have almost finished the project would be a nice 270 ° visual with FSMS 2024 is logical, but I would like to stay with P3D as regards the management of the aircraft.
any news on how things are coming for MSFS24?
Given how much time has passed since the last update, any new to share? What is the current state of development?
this would be a plane I'm sure many of us would love to have back again!
So glad that you included MSFS 2020 in the thread title. There are many of us who have not and do not plan to upgrade to MSFS 2024 in the near future.
It would be great to see this aircraft in 2026, flying A320 etc is okay. But the Dash is an aircraft that was amazing in P3D but could be even better in MSFS. Maybe an update as to where the development is will come early in the year. Fingers crossed.
To be honest the only reason just about that I can see for not switching over at this point is perhaps computer specs since 24 is a little harder than 2020 on the machine. But I've seen as recently as this week some polls in other devs discords. It seems that 2024 has really started to pull away now very significantly from 2020 in terms of users. It would be frustrating for a developer to have the added cost and expense of developing for two platforms in 2026. That's why most new payware planes are releasing 24 only.
I'm on a data cap. I can never use MSFS2024.
Can't wait; she's been missed in my hangar...
I would love to see the Q400 appear in my hanger, one day maybe.
are we sure it's still an active project? Unless I'm missing something we haven't heard any news from them since June last year.
To be honest I am not sure, I have seen the odd comment. But nothing solid, it would be a shame for it to vanish as it was the one purchase in P3D that was always my go to aircraft. I logged just under 3600 hrs in her. But I am starting to loose a little faith that I will ever see her on MSFS.
They should really colaborate with another studio like ini or fenix to get this one out. It's laughable at this point that they want to develop this on the side part time.
It's very disappointing to not get updated information at this point.
While it may seem laughable to some extent as you mentioned, for MJC there is a lot more involved that just sharing our code with another developer. It is not something that we are willing to do at this point, unfortunately. Had this been a straight-forward port then we more than likely would have pushed it already, but then like everything else the user group(s) would be dissatisfied with the product.
Yes the project is time consuming (if it is to be done properly) since we have decided to remodel the exterior which is being worked on (some of those images we shared back in June - wow, it has been that long). From a systems perspective just about everything is ready, but with a total remodel of the flight deck we have await its completion to integrate the systems to begin full scale testing.
We have always been forthcoming with progress, granted we do not nor have we provided bi-weekly/monthly updates, but when we do it is straight and to the point regarding the status of the project. Our silence does not mean the project is dead, it merely means that people are prioritizing amongst their daily jobs and family lives, especially when you are away from home days at a time, and or you work 10 to 14 hour days.
Work on the project is steadily being done and when we are able to share images of the state of the project we will.
Cheers
Bless you for your sign of life. Most welcome.
thanks for the update Kroswynd. While we can come across as being pests, it's only because so many of us love the plane you guys make and miss it dearly.
