More Sound Issues

My environment, cockpit and engine sliders are all set to nil. Yet the engine sounds are so load in my headphones I cannot hear voice over the volume. Makes it very hard to follow ATC instructions.

I have looked over the CPAN page and it resembles something found on the dashboard of that object found in the Roswell NM desert. If anyone has a super decoder ring detranslate set of instructions for operating that page I would be most appreciate of knowing where it is.

I have searched for hours trying to find out how to get my Q400 engine volume to a level where I can hear and better yet comprehend voice through the same set of headphones. Results are futile.

BTW splitting audio so ANY sound comes out of the desktop speakers is a non started with dear wife. It would quite naturally interfere with her viewing of murder and mayhem Television viewing in the evenings.

ANY help much appreciated gentlemen.

Cheers,

  • To change the engine volume levels, you have to edit the ini file.

    Found in the Q400 install folder; simobjects/Airplanes/mjc8q400/ini.
    Make a backup of the ini file before making any changes.
    Open the ini file in notepad.
    Scroll down to the [Sound] section.
    Look for these 2 lines;
    left_engine_sound_level = 50,70,85
    right_engine_sound_level = 50,70,85

    The numbers = the sound levels in % (from 0..100), for cockpit, cabin and external views respectively.
