P3d v4 Dash 8 - PFD aligning and MFD and some lights flickering

Hi,
I have just purchased the Dash 8 for p3d v4. when I load the aircraft, parts of the screens are flickering as are some of the lights.
as an example: the v/s indicator flickers up and down the scale, the screen says aligning on and off, the hydraulics lights on the overhead panel flicker on or off.
This goes on for ages - never happend on my FSX:SE version.

Could someone please explain what's going on and how I can resolve it?
