My FSX Q400 Pro Re-Installation Procedure
To all,
Yesterday I successfully reinstalled the (FSX) Q400 Pro to repair my
corrupted Nosewheel Steering. Since the evolution went so well I
am sharing the procedure that I used to perhaps help others who feel
the need to re-install this awesome package.
Not all the steps will be necessary for everyone because many don't
use the same utilities as myself and you may wish to add other steps
for your own utilities / add-ons. Some of the steps may be overkill
but I like to err on the safe side.
Questions, comments and / or suggestions for changes are welcome.
Best to all,
Ken

Comments
Also, it will be necessary to update the Nav Data.
Thanks for the share but your re-install procedure is a bit intense for the average user, and several of the steps that you post are not necessary.
The simplified method:
Back up your aircraft.cfg & mjc84.ini (mainly for any changes that you may have made, especially for the 125Hz and manual CPAN settings - ini & livery headers -cfg)
Use the Windows un-installer to remove the Q400 add-on
Re-booting PC is a good practice, but not necessary
Starting and shutting down FSX prior to re-installing the Q400 "is not necessary"
Re-install the Q400 (be sure to right clink on the installer and "Run As Admin", disabling you Anti-virus software may be a good idea as well so to prevent the quarantining of any files.
+Apply any available patches
Load Sim platform -->
+Load Q400 and verify that aircraft loads correctly
Re-Load the Aircraft not the simulator
Once the Q400 is running with the required CPAN changes, all other mods/tools /Nav DB updates can be applies.
Please note that the 125 Hz Mod is not a Majestic supported utility, however the developer of the tool, is usually very helpful in providing assistance if needed.
