No Toe Brakes/Brakes unresponsive

I have recently encountered a problem in that when I press my toe brakes (Saitek rudder pedals) I am getting no braking action. The brakes are being recognised by p3d (v5) as it disables the parking brake when I press them, and I get the red 'brakes' message in the bottom left of the screen as well as the 'differential brakes' message.

I have checked the PTU's and pressures and all is fine. I have tried to use the syspan to reset all failures (I only fly with default failures) and circuit breakers, this worked once and I thought it was fixed, but it has since happened again and this doesn't fix it.

I have set up the 125khz controls using the config tool as described here - viaintercity.com/forums/bombardier-dash-8-q400-(dhc-8-402q)/majestic-q400-pro-125hz-controls-config-tool/

Am I missing something in getting this bird ready for flight? I've been flying it for years and have only encountered this since I upgraded to p3d v5 a couple of weeks ago.

I also use Ezdok v3 which, apart from having to enable the taxiing fix in the effects menu, has worked for the first 10 or so flights before I encountered this problem.

Comments

  • Have you controlled the brakes working in the control panel ?
    Have you calibrated them there?

  • @CraigDubya
Your issue certainly seems to be a bit odd, but as @aua668 mentioned you need to ensure that verification via the CPAN is accomplished as well apart from binding within the simulator or FSUIPC.

Since you are not using the 125Hz for the brakes you must bind them with P3D or FSUIPC which it appears that you have done.

If this fails I would recommend un-installing and re-installing the Q400
