Nordeste Linhas Aereas was a regional airline from Bahia state on Brazil. Founded on 1976, cross with many challenges until 1995 when purchased by Rio-Sul, a VARIG daugther. On 2002 all 3 airlines merged into a VARIG.

In end of 1991, Nordeste was the first Fokker 50 operator on Brasil, using the factory demonstrator PH-JXK. The aircraft flown on airline around 4 months, but repossed due unpayment.

PH-JXK will be registred as PT-OQA, but never get this registration, by this way, the Dash 8-400 here is PT-OQA.

After Fokker 500 not sucess, airline get a pair of Embraer 120 Brasilia, first was PT-SRF with a "ctrl C+V" livery from DLT.

Around 1998-1999 Nordeste get "landor livery" from VARIG with a beautiful gold titles, here the PT-MNS ficctional of Dash 8-400.
