I was curious if the developers plan on implementing a PCA unit for the Q400? As far as I know, the only way to get warm air into the cabin and flight deck is to run the APU, and if its very cold out, and its a long turn, or delay, then I don't really want to run the APU for a long time.

  • At this time there are no plans to add preconditioned air. Running the APU will be the only choice at this time. You need not worry about an APU FAIL issue as it is not part of the logic :cold_sweat:

  • I am more concerned about my fuel usage than an APU failure lol, but when the TRAINING version of the Q400 comes out, I assume and hope there will be service based failures and that will include an inop APU. I know with many Q400 operators the SOP states a PCA must be attached if applicable.

But thanks for the reply  I hope a PCA will be implemented in the future.
