How to back up MJC Dash 8 Q400.

How to back up MJC Dash 8 Q400 from its present parked position but not to start the Push back scenario?

  • So you mean how to push the dash without using the implemented pushback tool?
You can only use GSX as technical support, because at Aerosoft AES the Dash spins on push. On positions where rolling backwards is allowed, you can also roll back after starting the engines.

  • The pushback sequence for the Q400 can be initiated from the FMS (No need for GSX or the newly released UGCX which by the way is not compatible with the Q400 as yet).

Simply go to DATA page then SERVICES and you should then see the pushback features on the right side

Of course if you do not want to use any third-party services such as GSX, UGCX or the Dash 8's own implemented push back options, then the simulator's standard "Shift+P" key combination works fine. Press "Shift+P" once to initiate the pushback, then press "1" or "2" to turn after that. Press "Shift+P" again to stop the pushback. You can, of course, pushback straight as far as you want before pressing the directional keys.

Note that using these key combinations does initiate the ground crew actions and pushback sequence ("Release parking brake", "Can we get clearance to start...", "Clear to start engine number 1", etc).

If you merely want to "move" the Dash-8, without initiating the built-in pushback sequence, then "Slew" mode ("Y" key) would probably be the only option to achieve that.
