ICE DETECTION credible?

Am I wrong or is the ICE DETECTION of the Dash 8 often quite arbitrary and at the wrong time? I often have the impression that it seems incorrect in this situation.

    The ice detection may at times may produce an erroneous indication. I don't recall off the top of my head how the sensor is coded. But I have had a few discussions in the late beta stages regarding this.

    If you provide a scenario or example that would be great.
