To try and solve the problem I completely uninstalled P3D and all addons, then installed nothing but the latest version of P3D, FSUIPC, and the Q400. Unfortunately, the problem still persists.

the error was totally on my end. an old trim wheel hardware piece I had all of a sudden became added to the p3d axis controls. Clearing that out fixed the conflict. sorry for the fire drill

I am not running 4.5 but will check and see if I can replicate in 5.3.

I performed several tests using the latest update from P3D including the HFs and had no issues using VS or IAS for climbs and or descents.
