Yaw Damper

Engaging the Autopilot automatically engages the Yaw Damper, but the Yaw damper cannot be disengaged by itself, pressing the Yaw Damper button also disengages the AP , is this correct??

I am also trying to map the Yaw Damper to a button but I cannot find a way, can you also help??

  • Why turn off? This would be required at most if it is in the abnormal checklist in the event of malfunctions (I would have to check)

  • For mapping the YD button you have to use the XML interface as described in the documentation provided. You must use the AFCS mode button with parameter 12.

PS: If you don't know about the XML interface and you are not a programmer it will be difficult. You may try LINDA or you might have a look in the community mods:

But in this case you also must be a programmer ;)

  • The logic for the yD and AP are correct. The YD can be enabled without the AP, but the YD being disabled/ MEL'd takes out the AP.

    Cheers
